The Junior League of Charleston will be bringing family fun to the Capitol Grounds this October 10th with their newly created “Pumpkins in the Park” Fall Festival and 5K Run/Walk.
Activities during this fall festival include competitions such as Wiener Dog Races and Cornhole (Corn Bag Toss) Tournament as well as a morning 5K Run/Walk. Manna Meal Soup Kitchen operates out of the St. John Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston, WV. To date, they have fed over 1.24 million people, serving breakfast and lunch every day.
Run by a small staff and plenty of volunteers, Manna Meal aims to provide meals to the hungry, no questions asked. The organization is not for profit, and relies soley on the contribution of the community.

Friends of Clay Center Oktoberfest Fundraiser
Charleston’s favorite fall fundraiser is back once again this year with more brews, more food and more acivities. Now on its sixth year, the Oktoberfest fundraiser will be held on September 26th, from 1pm to 5pm at the Appalachian Power Park. The event is open to all beer lovers above 21, and admission costs $25 per person, which includes beer tastings and a commemorative Oktoberfest cup.
