Charleston Stage Company and Festiv-All Charleston Announce 2010 Playwriting Competition

This is the fourth year for Charleston Stage Company’s Location Plays for Festiv-ALL! Previous productions have included the Bank Lobby Play, the Elvis Play, The Crossing (back this year by popular demand) and the wildly successful Trolley Play.
This year’s play contest, titled “The River Play” will be performed in one of the main cabins on the riverboat that will shuttle passengers between the Levee in downtown Charleston and the ”Wine and All That Jazz” event taking place on the University of Charleston campus on Saturday, June 26, 2010.

5th Annual Collis P. Huntington Model Train Show

On April 9, 10 and 11, model train enthusiasts are headed to the Dunbar Parks & Recreation Community Center for the 5th Annual Collis P. Huntington Model Train Show.
This year’s show will feature many operating model railroad layouts including The Cincinnati Bricks Lego Train Set, and the new Exhibit, “Riding the Rails Connecting West Virginia” along with some other collections of railroad memorabilia. Spring into Fashion at the Soroptimist Club Fashion Show

The Soroptimist International of Charleston will be holding its annual spring fashion show on March 27, 2010 at the University of Charleston Ballroom.
Watch the upcoming trends for spring come alive on the catwalk with the latest fashion from shops like Cache, Chico’s and Kelley’s Mens Shop. Attendees can also partake in the silent auction of over 40 different themed baskets. Ric Cochran will be the commentator for the show.
