Well Read Book Club

Kids in Grades 3 to 6 are invited to join Well Read Book store’s new book club, which is starting this May 4, 2010. The club will meet every first Tuesday of the month at 6pm. Membership is free and refreshment is served at every meeting. First book scheduled for the club is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling.

Frütcake at Washington

Marsha Hyatt, the former pastry chef at the Bluegrass Kitchen has moved on her own to open Frütcake, a shop specializing in pastries made with organic ingredients.
Customers can come in to savor Frütcake’s sumptuous cookies, sticky buns, scones, muffins, pies and cheesecakes. The Marsha ensures that there’s something to suit everyone’s diet and preference — there are pastries that are vegan, vegetarian and diabetic friendly.
