Haddad Park gets a makeover and opened last Friday with the season’s first Live on the Levee concert. Featuring the new Schoenbaum stage with a retractable canopy, the park is just one in the city’s agenda to revamp the riverfront.
The park will be host to a series of concerts every Friday this summer. It opened The Esquires last May 28, and it will be followed by the Opening Ceremony for the Special Olympics on June 4.

Charleston Stage Company has announced the winning playwrights for the “The River Play” selected for this year’s FestivAll Charleston site-specific location performances.
Colleen Anderson and Michael Davis collaborated on the new 10-minute play “Deep Issues” and Derek J. Samms penned the comic “Lady Fortune and her Sternwheel”.
