Live on the Levee at Haddad Park

Haddad Park gets a makeover and opened last Friday with the season’s first Live on the Levee concert. Featuring the new Schoenbaum stage with a retractable canopy, the park is just one in the city’s agenda to revamp the riverfront.
The park will be host to a series of concerts every Friday this summer. It opened The Esquires last May 28, and it will be followed by the Opening Ceremony for the Special Olympics on June 4.

Open Stage for Kids on May 28

It’s that time of the month again where kids from 5 to 15 can show off their talent on stage. Be it dancing, singing, telling jokes, playing an instrument or showing off an artwork, everybody’s encouraged to come up on stage and show everyone what they got at the Unity of Kanawha Valley Church. The show is hosted by Ron Sowell and Sky Kershner

The River Play at the FestvALL

Charleston Stage Company has announced the winning playwrights for the “The River Play” selected for this year’s FestivAll Charleston site-specific location performances.
Colleen Anderson and Michael Davis collaborated on the new 10-minute play “Deep Issues” and Derek J. Samms penned the comic “Lady Fortune and her Sternwheel”. Both plays will be presented on the River Queen sternwheeler as part of the free “water taxi” between Haddad Riverfront Park and the Wine & All That Jazz Festival held at the University of Charleston on Saturday June 26th.
