Kanawha Players presents the Art of Murder

Directed by Derek J. Samms, Art of Murder is now on stage at the Kanawha Players Theatre on Beauregard Street. Show starts at 8pm on Friday and Saturday (October 29 and 30) and 2pm on Sunday (October 31).

2010 Wishbones for Pets Drive Runs Until Thanksgiving

The 2010 Wishbones for Pets charity drive runs from 15 October through Thanksgiving to benefit local animal shelters. Kim Walton of Critter Sitters, LLC will be collecting donations in the form of blankets, toys, leashes and collars, and pet food for the Kanawha-Charleston Animal Shelter. Cash gifts are also welcome.
Established in 2004, Wishbones for Pets has been gaining ground nationwide. Run by volunteers who are also professional pet sitters, Wishbones for Pets supporters collect goods for their chosen animal charities – mostly by setting up collection barrels and drop boxes …

Charleston Fishing Tournament Reels in the Big Fish

The splendid Kanawha river played host to a flotilla of fishing vessels and hordes of angling enthusiasts as Charleston became home to the 2010 Fisher-of-Men Eastern Regional Championship last 15th and 16th of October. The championship — a project of a non-profit Christian ministry, celebrated its tenth year this 2010, and this marks the first time the event was held here.
