Description: The Charlie West Blues Fest is a Free two day event on Armed Forces Day weekend, May 20 & 21, 2011 at Haddad Riverfront Park, Charleston, WV. We will be having Blues, Jazz and Zydeco music, an Arts & Craft Fair as well as a children’s play area. There will be plenty of food vendors on site. This Festival is Produced by the WV Blues Society, Inc. www.wvbluessociety.org. Charlie West is held in the old fashioned way of a USO Show that shows our support for our Troops and their families for their service to our country. We will be having two stages this year, after jams both nights and a Blues Brunch Sat. morning with live music. Come out to a great family friendly event and enjoy the show with National as well as International music Acts ! We have great hotel rates on the festival web site and info about our festival. The Charlie West Blues Fest is right off of interstates I 77, I 64 and I 79. Hotels and restaurants and shopping mall is close by too. See you there.
The Charlie West Blues Fest is produced by the West Virginia Blues Society, Inc. to promote and preserve Blues music as an American art form; to honor the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families; to recognize Yeager Airport – fondly known as “Charlie West” and home of the 130th Airlift Wing of the WV Air National Guard; and to share the healing powers of the Blues.
We present the best in live blues music in a family-friendly environment. Located on the Kanawha River at Haddad Riverfront Park. We will be bringing in twelve National Acts of Blues, Jazz and Zydeco music over two days. This is a free event with Arts & Craft vendors on-site too.
The Festival can be reached from I-64, I-77 and I-79, located in the heart of Charleston, WV. Hotels and Restaurants are within walking distance.
