Faith S. Holsaert, editor of Hands on the Freedom Plow: Personal Accounts by Women in SNCC
In Hands on the Freedom Plow, fifty-two women from a diverse range of ages, ethnicities, educational backgrounds, and socio-economic classes, share their deeply personal stories as volunteers for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).
Faith Holsaert and her fellow editors are eager to share these stories with everyone — as they say on the book’s preface, “Though the voices are different, they all tell the same story–of women bursting out of constraints… and making a difference in this world.”
