The Clay Center in Charleston, WV has a lot of activities lined up this April for kids of all ages.
Every Wednesdays, children aged 5 and under can listen to stories and do crafts on Wee Wednesdays. Held every 11am and 1pm, the activity is included in the Museum gallery admission fee ($7 for adults, $5.50 for children, free for members).
Older kids would enjoy the Whizbang Workshops by Professor Art Whizbang. This Saturday (April 18th), kids from Grade K – 5 will prepare a variety of tasty and healthy treats in the Junior Chefs: Spring Fling workshop. Celebrate Earth Day with the whole family at the Clay Center’s special Earth Day festivities. Learn what you can do to protect the earth at the Earth Fair, listen to the stories about the environment and create art out of recycled items. Earth Day at the Clay Center is on the 25th of April, from 11am to 4pm.
Since it’s Earth Day, Milton’s Marvels of Science is showing a special Earth Day science shows the whole month of April. Shows run from Wednesdays through Sundays at 1, 2 and 3pm at the Earth City’s Cavern of Time.
Movie buffs and art lovers are sure to enjoy the Clay Center’s ongoing exhibit of Out of this World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television and the Art and Popular Culture From the Permanent Collection that’s on exhibit until May 10 and July 5 respectively.
Over at the ElectricSky Theater, you can witness the devastating effect of Hurricane Katrina with the Hurricane on the Bayou Giant screen film. This show is on going until July 10 and runs for 45 minutes.
