West Virginia University basketball star Jerry West will be introducing his autobiography to fans at the West Virginia Book Festival. West is scheduled to speak on 22nd October at the Charleston Civic Center.
West is the top scorer and rebounder in WVU basketball history. He also co-captained the 1960 gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic basketball team
He played 14 seasons for the Los Angeles Lakers and later served as the NBA team’s coach and general manger. He’s now a consultant for the Golden State Warriors.
His autobiography, “West by West: My Charmed, Tormented Life,” co-authored by Jonathan Coleman, talks about his personal hardships, including a lifelong struggle with depression.
