Charleston Boulevard Rod Run and Doo Wop

8 October 2010 273 views No Comment

The Charleston Boulevard Rod Run and Doo Wop will be holding its fifth event from the 7th to the 10th of October 2010. The event has become a modern tradition and a welcome addition to Charleston’s line up of sports meets, country fairs, and social events.

Last year, Charleston Boulevard Rod Run and Doo Wop played host to over 800 cars. The beautiful show cars where parked nose to tail along along the beautiful Kanawha River last October. Thousands of classic car enthusiasts swung by to ogle the hardware, watch the fireworks and concerts, and have some good ole’ Charleston fun.

For Car Collectors

Owing to the event’s rising success, car collectors who would like to share their pride and joy with other classic car enthusiasts are advised to register and arrive at the venue early to secure a slot. Space is limited along the Boulevard so if you want to capture prime slots, make haste and register early. Don’t forget to bring your cleaning and detailing supplies with you to ensure your car’s photo-ready shine the whole day through!

For Car Buffs

Lunchtime is the best time to go see the cars, as most of them are already set up to be admired and photographed by their proud owners. Don’t forget to join the event raffles and take home attractive prizes like rare car parts and cash gifts. Before heading home, make your way to the Rod Run’s many festival routes to see the cars in action, or hop on by to the Doo Wop’s many musical events and performances.

For Everybody Else

With the event featuring four days of nonstop fuel-charged fun, make sure you book a stay at one of Charleston’s many fine hotels to get in on all the action. We suggest staying at three of the best hotels in the city: The Ramada, The Wingate by Wyndham, or The Hampton Inn. Each hotel boasts of a number of features to make your stay in Charleston enjoyable and memorable.
