Auditions for West Virginia: Words and Music

Charleston Stage Company will stage West Virginia: Words and Music in May. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11 at 7:00 pm at WVSU’s Capitol Center Theatre, 123 Summers Street in downtown Charleston. Singing auditions will be held on Tuesday, March 10 and Acting tryouts will be held on Wednesday, March 11.

Auditioning actors will be asked to read selection from the scripts. Singers must bring a prepared piece or they can also sing a very of “West Virginia Hills.”

CSC Artistic Director David Wohl will direct the production. It will feature songs and monologues composed and written by West Virginia writers, composers, and musicians. The show will be performed at the Clay Center’s Walker Theatre the last two weekends of May.

Songs by John Lilly, Larry Groce, Ron Sowell, Colleen Anderson, Doug Imbrogno, and Jeff Ellis will be perfomed on stage. Scenes include monologues written by Denise Giardina, Margaret Baker, Becky Kimmons, Kirk Judd, Mark DeFoe, and Jude Binder.
