Description: The WVSO’s 2010-2011 Capitol Conference Center Symphonic Series continues with “A Touch of Tchaikovsky”– featuring the Gilmore Young Artist and Max I. Allen Classical Fellowship Award winning pianist, Adam Golka.

This 23-year-old piano virtuoso Mr. Golka will perform Peter Ilych Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concert No. 1 in B-flat minor – one of the composer’s best-loved pieces and arguably his most famous piano work.

In addition, this concert will also include two works by one of Maestro Cooper’s favorite contemporary composers: Douglas Lilburn. Maestro Cooper, also a former student of the composer, will lead the Orchestra in Lilburn’s Overture: Aotearoa and Symphony No. 2. Both performances will take place at 8 p.m. at the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences of West Virginia in Charleston
