Haiti Struggles to Recover From EarthquakeOn January 25, 2010, the Bridge Road Bistro and Commercial Insurance Services will host a special fundraising dinner to assist the American Red Cross in their mission of providing care for the victims of the devastating Haiti earthquake.

Last January 12, a 7 magnitude earthquake hit the country, flattening the capital city of Port-au-Prince and leaving approximately 200,000 dead, 250,000 injured and about 1.5 million homeless. The dust still haven’t settled when a 6.1 magnitude aftershock hit just this morning. This is in the midst of rescuers still searching for survivors and residents still in need of food and water.

All proceeds of this dinner will go directly to the Haiti Relief Fund of the American Red Cross. This will support the organization’s emergency relief and recovery efforts to all those affected by the earthquake.

The benefit dinner will feature Appalachian Pork and Mushroom Pot Stickers, Bistro Mixed Salad, Grilled Petit Filet “Oscar” and Indian Honey Fry Bread. Dinner is $65 per person.

For additional details and reservations, call the Bridge Road Bistro at (304) 720-3500.
