Everything is set for the East End’s 4-day Halloween celebration, Halloweast. The event will feature several activities spread throughout the four days, held in different locations at Charleston’s East End.
There is something for everybody. Children will surely have fun at the arts and crafts corner on the 28th at The Book exchange, as well as the Trick or Beat party on the 29th. The family can all partake in the HallowEast Family Fun Night at the East End Family Resource Center on Ruffner Avenue, also on the 29th.
Art lovers are in for a treat. Halloweast is the venue of the The ArtMares Art Exhibition. Opening on the evening of the 28th, this is a fundraising exhibition of horror-themed display of local artists. Thirty-percent of the sale of art pieces on display will benefit the East End Main Street, to fund future events and revitalization efforts.
The four-day event culminates with the 11th Annual Halloween Hootenanny, a grand halloween party at The Empty Glass on Elizabeth. With performances by the Lords of the Highway, Whiskey Daredevils, and The Drunken Gentlemen, this is one party you wouldn’t want to miss, especially with people encouraged to come in costume!
