The Capitol Market is gearing up for Halloween with its weekly weekend activities. Bring the kids over for The Great Pumpkin Party this Saturday, October 17. Buy a pumpkin and the Capitol Market will provide the paint, brushes and aprons for decorating. Other activities include pumpkin bowling and facepainting and art activities provided by the Clay Center.
On October 23, dress up for trick or treat at the market from 4pm to 6pm. All children in costume will get a chance to have their photo taken by Mark Hall of Photo Grafix. Photos costs $5 each, and will be available for pick up the following day.
Orange may be the color of Halloween, but on October 24, the pumpkin turns pink in support of breast cancer awareness. The scariest, prettiest, silliest and pinkest pumpkin gets a price in a contest sponsored by the American Cancer Society. Contest registration costs $2 for kids up to 14 years, and $5 for adults. Proceeds will go to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in June 2010.
