Description: The Mid-Ohio Valley Ringers, a community handbell ensemble, based in Vienna, WV, will present their 2010 Spring Concert on Sunday, April 25, 3:00 p.m. at the Village Chapel Presbyterian Church, Charleston. The concert, entitled “Favorites – Old and New”, will include a wide mixture of sacred, classical, original, and popular selections arranged specifically for handbells.
The ensemble prides itself in not only creating beautiful music, but in having fun and being able to share that fun with their audience. The choir was organized fifteen years ago by several of the current members and has performed before audiences in five different states. They currently host a minimum of three different concerts annually as well as perform in several other venues and performances. Members come from both Wood and Kanawha counties in West Virginia and Washington County in Ohio.Selections for the Spring Concert will include A Mighty Fortress, I’m Just a Poor Wayfaring Stranger, My Home Among the Hills, an original composition written for the group – Fair River Rhapsody, and the 1968 hit – Classical Gas.
