Dedicated to showing original 20th century and contemporary American art by leading local, regional and nationally recognized artists, The Art Store in Charleston, WV has invited uniquely talented emerging Artists from around the country to exhibit in their gallery for the month of July.
Curated by Maggie Starcher, the show features paintings, sculptures and prints from local WV talents: Cassie Clements, Huntington; Nik Botkin, Nitro; Justin Gillispie, Charleston; as well as current Charlestonian residents Jon Salo and Maitreyi Doshi, who studied at Concord College. Painters from New York to California, which studied at the Rhode Island School of Deisgn, with Starcher, include Marisa Keris, Meghan Gordon, Sam Carr-Prindle, Lisa Rock, and Alissa McKindrick. This will be the first group exhibition at The Art Store for all of the artists chosen for the exhibition.
The group exhibition will on Saturday, July 11 from 5:30-7:30PM, and will be attended by a number of local artists. The event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be on hand.
