Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest

The West Virginia Commission on the Arts and the Division of Culture and History are inviting everyone to the semifinal and final rounds of the Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest.

They will be taking place on Friday and Saturday at the State Capitol Complex. Admission to the event is absolutely free. Twenty-two students will be competing on Friday for the semi-final round, and only the top ten finalists will be returning on the next day.

The winner will receive $200 and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, DC for the national finals on April 28 and 29. The winner’s school will also be receiving a trophy and a cash subsidy for their library.
