South Charleston Summerfest
Summer is nearing its end, so what better way to celebrate than an evening of music and great company? Known for the music and dancing, this year’s summerfest also features fireworks, Ice Cream Sunday and kiddy games to keep the young ones busy.
The free fest is held near the Mound in South Charleston. Kicking off the festivities are The Jaguars, Mike Chapin as Elvis and the Mark Wolford Band on Wednesday, August 19. Other bands gracing the event are Mother’s Nature Band, Steve Pennington Band, Tommy Griffith, Willie D & Night Life, the Esquires, and Hillbilly Entertainment.
The South Charleston Summerfest is not complete without dancing. Dance competitions for kids and adults, as well as a “Dancing under the Stars” contest where in amateur couples will be chosen from the crowd to compete amongs them. The dance competition will be held every night with the final judging night will be held on Saturday, August 22.
Other attractions include an open car show for every car enthusiasts, and a exhibition of Clydsdale horses.
The festival activities start at 6pm every night until Friday, August 21. It opens early on Saturday, August 22 at 9 o’clock in the morning, and opens noon on August 23.

Summerfest Children.s Pageant
August 4th our Jr. TEEN TEEN QUEEN MISS MS. & MRS. So. Chas. Summerfest Pageant will be held that same evening.
