Though “Farm Fresh Fun” is the theme for this year’s state fair, there will be as much (if not more) “fun” as there is fresh farm produce. Aside from classes in livestock exhibits, food contests, crafts, and agricultural produce, there are plenty of activities for everybody to enjoy.
As in previous years, the West Virginia State Fair features carnival rides that will sure to impress thrill seekers. There’s a ride for every age and level of adventurousness. Among the ride in this year’s fair are the Racing Coaster, Dutchwheel, Tornado, Full Tilt, Ring of Fire, Starship 3000, Pharoah’s Fury, Tilt-a-Whirl, Scrambler, Sky Flyer and The Magic Carpet Fun House.
The state fair also features world class singers performing at the grandstand. Styx, David Cook, Gary Allan and Darius Rucker have already performed earlier this month at the fair grounds. Tonight, you can catch The Temptations (tickets at $20), and on Sunday, your kids can enjoy music from the High School Musical, which is part of the Disney Summer Celebration. In the evening, sit back and enjoy the croonings of veteran singer Kenny Rogers.
Tickets are available at the gate. Map and driving directions to the fairgrounds in Lewisburg is available at the fair website.
