Team Trivia, a live trivia game played in teams has found its way to West Virginia. Charleston natives and trivia fanatics Eric & Courtney Bergman are bringing the franchise to WV.
Here’s how Team Trivia work: teams of four (or less) work together to come up with the correct answer to the question asked by the host. Teams are must discuss the question, decide on an answer, set the number of points they want the question to count, and write down their answer in the sheet provided. All thems must present their answers at the same time.
Team Trivia games are usually held in establishments that wish to host the game. There is no joining fee and prizes are usually gift certificates for the host establishment. Team Trivia games usually last two hours.
Team Trivia started in Atlanta in the 80’s as an effort to draw crowds into bars on slow nights. It quickly became a hit, and Team Trivia is now played in over 50 establishments across 12 states.
The first trivia game in West Virginia will start on February 5, 7:00pm at the Athletic Club at the Charleston Embassy Suites and continue on each succeeding Friday. Other dates and venues include:
February 9 – Hooters, Kanawha City
February 10 – Rose’s, South Charleston
February 11 – Quaker Steak and Lube, Southridge.
