Description: Trillium Performing Arts- Sara Felder Workshop for Artists-Amusing the Muse Rehearsals are Friday, February 20 from 10am-5pm and Saturday, February 21 from 10pm-2pm for Saturday Night’s 8:00pm performance at the Wild Bean in downtown Lewisburg, WV Part I: Some tools, some creation a) learn to juggle, balance and move objects through space b) create text with objects c) investigate character with objects; d) time permitting – character writing Part II: Who am I? Who aren’t I? a) writing exercise, point of view b) performance/story telling exercises Saturday 10am-2pm (rehearsal with Sara Felder) Part III: What’s Important? a) putting the personal into the global or vice versa b) the art of comedy c) Putting it together/ letting it out- inhaling and exhaling Sara Felder has been a professional juggler for over 20 years. She began her career with San Francisco’s Pickle Family Circus as juggler, object manipulator and dancing gorilla. She has also toured with Joel Grey’s “Borscht Capades” in Florida, the” Women’s Circus” in Nicaragua and “Jugglers for Peace” in Cuba. Through the California Arts Council, she taught juggling to inmates in California prisons and half-way houses for seven years. Sara is a recent recipient of the Pennsylvania Council for the Arts individual artist fellowship, the Philadelphia Theatre Initiative and the Independence Foundation’s individual artist fellowship. She has written, performed and toured 4 solo plays, including the acclaimed “June Bride”, which has toured to nearly 35 venues. Her newest solo play, “Out of Sight,” Brings circus tricks, shadow puppets and a Jewish queer sensibility to questions of invisibility, family loyalties and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. www.sarafelder.com
