West Virginia Book Festival

booksThis weekend, book lovers in and around Charleston, WV will be flocking to the Charleston Civic Center for the annual West Virginia Book Festival.

The festival brings together authors, publishers, book vendors and avid readers for a weekend of programs, workshops, seminars and of course, shopping! Books and related merchandise will be available for sale at the festival marketplace featuring works by regional publishers and authors. The Kanawha County Public Library will also be holding a used-book sale during the course of the festival. Authors will also be around to sign books and talk with the public.

Among those speaking at the festival are Frances O’Roark Dowell, Megan Abbott, Andy Schmidt, Frank X Walker and Mark DeFoe. For a complete program listing, visit the West Virginia Book Festival website.

The festival will be held on October 10 and 11 this year. Gates open at 9am on Saturday, noon on Sunday. The festival is open until 6pm on both days. Admission is free.
