Built as a movie house in 1938, the Alban Arts & Conference Center now play host to community theater productions, art classes, exhibitions, and movie screenings.
Located in St. Albans, just a short drive from Charleston, WV,it is also the home of the Alban Arts Academy, which holds 12-week classes (one semester) on various arts studies: acting (beginner to advanced), improv, singing, puppetry, movement, stage make-up, painting, and sculpture.
Its stage been the setting for performances, such as Richard the Third, Edwards Albee’s A Delicate Balance, Charlotte’s Web, The Wizard of Oz, The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, A Christmas Carol, Venus in Fur, and Antigone. This year, shows includes Brilliant Traces by Cindy Lou Johnson, Catch and Release, and Bell, Book, and Candle.
The Alban is a popular venue for events, with complete facilities for conferences, concerts, pageant, and parties. The Alban Arts and Conference Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Donations are welcome, and everyone is invited to join their Annual Auction Fundraiser.
