The Charleston Light Opera Guild brings to life the tale as old as time: Beauty and the Beast. Catch the last two performances this weekend, on August 12 and August 14 at the Clay Center in Charleston, WV.
This production is the stage version of the Disney animated film of the same name, and includes all the songs by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman from the movie, as well as the songs written for the Broadway show by Menken and Tim Rice.
Tickets are $25 each, and are available through the Clay Center website, www.theclaycenter.org. The show on Friday is at 7:30 pm, while the show on Sunday is at 2:00 pm.
The Charleston Light Opera Guild is also celebrating its 20th year on Saturday, August 13. Join volunteers and members as they look back on two decades of the guild at their office on 411 Tennessee Ave, from 6:30 pm. Admission is free, but donations are welcomed. Refreshments and entertainment are provided, and there will be a silent auction, with proceeds going to benefit the guild.
