West Virginia’s toughest mountain biking race is happening this August 11 at the Kanawha State Forest.
The Black Bear 40K is an intensive trail race that takes through a challenging course through the forest. The race is divided into three classes: Beginner (20K), Sport (30K), and Expert (40K). Don’t let the classes lull you into complacency: they are all guaranteed to give you a very tough biking experience.
Registration fee is $25 for West Virginia Mountain Bike Association members, $30 for non-members. Registration opens at 8:30am, with the race starting at 11:00 am for the Expert class, and 12:00 noon for the Beginner and Sport class.
The race course is detailed in the Tear Jerker’s website, the organizer of the race. Volunteers for the race are welcomed, and details for that are also in the website. For more information, visit www.tearjerkers.co.
