Do you have a cast iron skillet and want to get ideas of what else you can cook with it? Or are you considering buying one, and needed that last push of inspiration to purchase it? At the Cast Iron Cook-Off on February 5-6, 2016 in Charleston, WV, you’ll have all the answers to your questions!
Amateur and professional chefs battle it out, creating sumptuous four-course meals cooked entirely on cast-iron cookware to be presented to a panel of judges to determine the Grand Champion, the team with the most innovative menu, the teams with the most creative presentation, the team with the most spirited, and the team with the best use of West Virginian products.
The two-day event is free and open to the public. On Friday, there will be the Junior Cast Iron Cook-Off, Team Culinary Competitions, and the Tastes from the Mountains Dine Around (tickets required). On Saturday, there will be vendor’s booths, craft beer and wine samplings, and cooking demonstrations. Tickets to some of the events are available for sale at www.castironcookoff.com.
The two-day will be held at the Marriott Town Center.
