The first ever Charleston Restaurant Week is happening starting Monday, January 27 through February 1, 2014. Participating restaurants include Bluegrass Kitchen, Bridge Road Bistro, Ichiban, Noah’s Eclectic Bistro, Paterno’s at the Park, Soho’s Capitol Market, South Hills Market and Café, and Vandalia Grille.
The idea is from the original “Restaurant Week” that was first held in New York City as a promotional event in 1992, which is now being held in cities across the globe. Charleston’s Restaurant Week is brought on by the recent water contamination, which brought businesses to a halt. Aside from making up for lost restaurant sales, the event also encourages diners who have had reservations about trying out some of Charleston’s fine dining restaurants, to check them out at the very reasonable price of $30 for a 3-course meal.
The participating restaurants are encouraging diners to make reservations early to secure a seat on their chosen dates, and if they’re going to be late or need to cancel, to let them know.
