The Charleston Light Opera Guild will bring to life Roxy and Velma, in their staging of the popular musical, Chicago.
The musical, which was written by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, is based on a 1926 play by Maurine Dallas Watkin, about actual criminals and the crimes they have committed. The original musical first opened in Broadway in 1976, and has since became one of Broadway’s longest running American musical. It has also been adapted into film in 2002, starring Renee Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Richard Gere.
