Tickets are still available for the Fiddler on the Roof, a performance co-presented by the Charleston Light Opera Guild and the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia on October 31, November 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9.
The musical features music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. It is based on the short story “Tevye and his Daughters,” penned by Sholem Aleichem, which was then made into a book by Joseph Stein.
It is the first musical that surpassed 3,000 performances, and was the longest running Broadway musical for close to 10 years. Fiddlers on the Roof has won 9 Tony Awards, and has spawned more than a couple of revivals, a film adaptation, and remains a favorite not just in Broadway, but all around the world.
The musical will be staged at the Maier Performance Hall of the Clay Center, with gala shows at 7:30 pm on the Friday and Saturday performances, and matinee at 2:00 pm on Sundays.
Tickets are available at the Clay Center box office and website.
