Even in the winter, there’s plenty of things to do in Charleston, WV. Outdoor enthusiasts, and even those looking for outdoor activities can rejoice that hiking is indeed possible.
The Kanawha Trail Club organizes hikes throughout the year. These hikes are open even to non-members. The hikes have different difficulty ratings, and caters to various fitness levels and age.
Coming up this Sunday is the Valentine’s Day Hike at the Hoffman Hollow at the Kanawha State Forest. This is approximately 3-4 miles hike on moderate trail, headed by Sharon Cook. At the end of the hike, all participants are invited to regroup at the KTC lodge to celebrate Valentine’s Day with chocolate treats.
Other hikes this February is to a 3-4 mile hike in a local private farm on the 22nd, and a 8 mile hike in the Lake Vesuvius Recreational Area in the Wayne National Forest in Ohio.
