President and co-founder of Farm Sanctuary Gene Baur will be signing books and giving a talk about his book, Farm Sanctuary: Changing Hearts and Minds about Animals and Food in Charleston, WV on August 21, 2013.
Gene is an animal rights activist, advocating for better conditions for farm animals. Farm Sanctuary is a shelter he opened to provide refuge to farm animals. They also facilitate the rescue and adoption of these animals. The Farm Sanctuary has shelters in New York and California, and is open for visitors to connect with farm animals.
His book is a national bestseller, and challenges the readers to re-examine the ethical questions raised by the production of beef, poultry, pork, milk, and eggs.
