Looking for a new place to explore with the family this summer? Check out the Museum in the Park at the Chief Logan State Park, an hour’s drive from Charleston, WV.
The museum features art and historical exhibits from the region, showcasing the best of West Virginia. Some of the exhibits include The Buffalo Creek Disaster, which includes a comprehensive video that documents the fate of the 17 small towns affected. Ron Moxley also shared a portion of his archaeological collections, mainly artefacts from pre-European Native American villages that he discovered.
There is also a “We Are Marshalls” movie memorabilia exhibit, which includes props, costumes, and other items from the movie. Several of colorful Blenko glass vases are on display, right beside the window so you can see how each one change its color as the light changes.
