Charleston Light Opera Guilds brings My Fair Lady to Charleston, WV this April and May at the Little Theater of the Charleston Civic Center. The musical will be on stage on April 28 and 29, and May 4, 5, 6, 11, and 12.

Based on George Bernard Shaw’s play, Pymalion, My Fair Lady is the story of a young cockney flower seller, Eliza Doolittle. With the help of Professor Henry Higgins, she learned how to act and speak like a proper lady, and an unlikely friendship flourished between the two. The musical was first opened in Broadway in 1956 and stared Julie Andrews and Rex Harrison. It has won six Tony Awards including Best Musical. The film version starring Audrey Hepburn won eight Oscars including Best Picture.
