Not So Silent Spring: West Virginia’s Breeding Bird Atlas Project with Doug Wood

bestThe Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia will be hosting another Lunchtime Lecture on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the center’s Art Gallery, from 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm.

For November’s lecture series, the culmination of the six-year effort in creating an atlas of the breeding birds in the Mountain State will be highlighted. The efforts done by the Wildlife Diversity unit of the Department of Natural Resources’ recruited volunteer bird enthusiasts and seasoned ornithologists will share the assessment procedures, the special sub-projects within the overall atlas survey, and some interesting finding about West Virginia’s breeding bird populations.
