The Kanawha State Forest Foundation Presents the 2014 Osbra Eye Memorial Wildflowers Walk, to be held on Saturday, the 26th of April 2014 at the Kanawha State Forest from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.
The day starts at 8:30 am, where participants must register for the walk at the swimming pool. There will be a variety of walks, including wildflowers, medicinal/edible plants, trees, beginning and advanced birding, photography, and others. Interested participants are encouraged to bring their cameras and binoculars, specially those interested in photography and birding.
There will be door prizes, raffle, and hot dogs during the event.
Osbra Eye was a self-taught naturalist, botanist, photographer, and a known wildflower expert. His photographs and articles of birds and wildflowers have appeared numerous times in the Wonderful West Virginia magazine. He also served as the Superintendent of the Kanawha State Forest for 25 years. The annual Spring Walk was named in honor in 1993.
