Quilters young and old, beginners and intermediate, are invited to join the Quilt Workshop offered by the West Virginia Division of Culture and History on May 9, 2014, 10 am, at the Culture Center of the State Capitol Complex in Charleston, WV.
The workshop will be headed by National Quilting Association (NQA) certified judge Marcel Miller. The first segment of the workshop is a 2-hour session wherein participants will be given practical advice on selecting the best quilting design for their quilts. They will be taught the system of choosing a design, learn how to determine thread colors, batting, and backing for their quilt.
The second segment of the workshop will discuss the judging process from beginning to end. Marcel Miller will be discussing the benefits of having a quilt entry judged, and will show different exhibition categories, designs, workmanship, and competition awards.
