Shocka-con, West Virginia’s premier horror and sci-fi convention is happening this weekend at The Haunted Barn and Kanawha Players Theater.
From Friday, September 20, to Sunday, September 22, horror and sci-fi enthusiasts have the entire weekend to meet their favorite celebrities, shop for cool merchandise, watch movie screenings, listen to speakers and panels, enjoy live music, and mingle with like-minded fans.
Participants are encouraged to come in costume, as mystery judges will be roaming the venue to pick the best in costume. There will be prizes awarded to winners of different categories, and a grand prize of an overnight stay at The Resort at Glade Springs will be given to the best overall costume.
VIP tickets to the event costs $100, which includes 3 days general entry, one early entry, one t-shirt, line-skip, one haunt ticket, and a special gift bag. Also available are 3-days and 1-day passes for $30 and $15 respectively. These tickets include entry to the convention, general events, concerts, and most demonstrations. Tickets for workshops are sold separately.
