Celebrate heritage, culture, and tradition at the 36th Vandalia Gathering, happening in Charleston, WV on May 24-25, 2013.
Activities for Saturday, May 26th, includes at activities, story telling, pound cake and cupcake baking contest, traditional dance exhibitions, fiddle, banjo, and mandolin contests, and concerts starting at 1pm.
On Sunday, you can sing the gospel with Angie Richardson, listen to the most outrageous lies at the Liars Contest, watch even more dance exhibitions, participate in the lap dulcimer or the flat pick guitar contest, and enjoy the music from the concerts starting at 12pm.
This free event will be held at the Capitol Complex in Charleston, Wv. Though camping is not allowed in the complex, visitors from out of town can camp for free at the Kanawha State Forest.
Parking on the Capitol Complex will be free after five o’clock on Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday. The parking garage wouldn’t be charging as well, but please note that the elevators will not be working.
