9 to 5: The Musical

9 to 5: the Musical opens this Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Charleston Civic Center Little Theatre. It is presented by the Charleston Light Opera Guild. Other performance days will be May 3, 9, 10, 11, 16, and 17. All shows will be at 7:30 pm, except for the May 11 show, which is a matinee at 3:00 pm.
Tickets are available through the Civic Center Little Theatre Box Office, Mondays through Saturdays, 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, and one hour prior to performance. Tickets are $20 each.

Bollywood Night 2014 is coming this May 17th at the Charleston Civic Center! Now on its fourth year, this fundraising gala presented by The India Center once again promises a multicultural experience for all attendees.

Spring is the time for temperatures dropping and flowers blooming. For avid anglers though, it’s the time for trout fishing.

The West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services is calling for resident West Virginian artists with disabilities to submit entries for the 2014 West Virginia Diversifying Perspectives Art Contest and Exhibition.
This exhibition aims to promote the creative and diverse talents of people with disabilities. It is open to residents of West Virginia who have a disability and is at least 18 years old. Deborah Herndon’s art

Charleston native Deborah Herndon is amongst the 26 artists chosen to display for the Fourth Annual “Art & Earth” Exhibit of the Berkley Arts Council.
Her work, “Tree Looking Up, Corsica,” was chosen by a national jury among 134 other artists from all around the United States. The exhibit is already ongoing at the Berkeley Art Works Gallery in Martinsburg, and will close on May 4.
Three of Deborah’s artwork is also featured at the “Memento Mori (Words and Images)” exhibit at the Beckley Art Group in Beckley, WV until May 11. …

The deadline for submission of entries for the Art-for-ALL student art exhibition has been extended to May 1, 2014 to encourage more students from all around the region to enter. The organizers have already received a good number of entries, but most of them only represent two counties.
