A true Charleston landmark, Sam’s Uptown Cafe has been serving the community for 14 years. Located in downtown Charleston, this 2-storey cafe features a bar and serves a full menu starting lunch time until closing.
Owners Scott and Laura Miller made sure that Sam’s serves only the best meals and friendliest atmosphere. Locals enjoy the highly personal service they get from the staff, while visitors to the city get a taste of true Charleston hospitality. During lunch time, the cafe is filled with Charlestonian coming in for a filling meal, while at night, people flock to unwind at the bar and to hear some live music.
Favorites among Sam’s regulars are the sandwiches — Reubens, Rachels, Phillys and Friscos. Other favorite includes Chicken and dumplings, prime rib, and the Sam Burger.
Sam’s Uptown Cafe is the venue of many band gigs in Charleston. For the remainder of March, you can watch bands like Bon Scottscock (March 20), Pushkin and Friends (March 21), Stewart Hill and The Unusual Suspects (March 25) and Visions (March 27 & 28).
