Charleston, WV welcomes its newest addition in the food and wine scene: The Block.
The restaurant held its soft opening last Saturday, but is currently now open full day for business. The restaurant features light fare that pairs splendedly with their more than 500 varieties of wine on offer.
Some items in the menu include steak tartare, charcuterie, goat cheese brulee salad, Sriracha-maple encrusted chicken, and truffle pasta. Cheese sampler platter is also available, and guests can choose up to three kinds available in their “cheese cave.” Tapas are of course, also available, ranging from $17 to $47. There is also a good desert selection, which includes gelato from Charleston’s own Ellen’s Homemade Ice Cream.
Inside its massive folding doors is an interior that is divided into three seating areas on the main floor. The restaurant can easily seat 100 patrons, with ample space for more. There are already plans to expand the restaurant with an outdoor seating area.
