As part of this year’s FestivALL celebration, the Charleston Light Opera Guild is presenting the stage adaptation of the 2002 movie, Catch Me if you Can at the Charleston Civic Center Little Theatre on June 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, and 29.
The story is based on the life of Frank W. Abagnale, Jr., who ran away as a teenager in search for the good life. With nothing more than his good looks, charms, and some forged checks for millions of dollars, he traipsed around the country, with FBI agent Carl Hanratty hot on his trails.
The musical was written by Terrence McNally, and scored by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. It has received four Tony Awards nominations, including Best Musical. The local production will be starred by Evan Sullivan as Frank and Chris Terpening as Carl. On the helm of the local production is Artistic Director and Choreographer, Nina Denton Pasinetti, joined by Musical Director Bobby Hodges, Jr., and Accompanist David Patrick.
