The Holstine family of Campbells Creek donated the beloved family spruce that has been on their front yard for close to twenty years to Joyful Night.
The tree will be part of West Virginia’s annual tree-lighting holiday celebration on December 1st at the Capitol Complex.
Many years ago the Holstines planted the tree in their yard. The beautiful Norway spruce became part of the family home — holiday lights and decorations were put on it every year. This year, the couple decided the tree had to go; it had grown too large for its location.
Stacy Holstine said, “I’m glad somebody else will get to enjoy it.”
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and first lady Joanne Jaeger Tomblin will lead the Joyful Night festivities starting at 5:45 PM. Marching bands will participate in the festivities, which are free and open to the public.
