After a successful opening and launch last week, the celebration and activities continues all through this week until the 25th of June.
Celebrate West Virginia day on the 20th at the Rolls on the River event at Magic Island, with pepperoni rolls, craft beer, music, and local WV merchandise. This event is from 5:30 PM until 8:30 PM, and tickets cost $35 at the door, which already includes 10 pepperoni roll samples and five 4 oz beer tickets. Tickets for kids 10 years and under cost $5, and includes rolls and soft drinks. Proceeds from this event goes toward supporting WV youth.
The Dance Gala on the 21st features Taylor 2, one of the professional dance company of the legendary dancer and choreographer Paul Taylor. They will be joined on stage by the Charleston Ballet under the direction of Kim Pauley and the River City Youth Ballet Ensemble under the direction of Michelle Raider. Tickets to the performance costs $22, and is available at the Clay Center box office.
The River Queen Cruises are back starting on Wednesday, with cruises scheduled every 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm. Cruise tickets cost $20 for adults, $19 for seniors, $12 for children 4-12, and free for children aged 3 and below. Tickets can be reserved beforehand, and also available for purchase onsite. River taxis are also available at $3 for adults, and free for children aged 12 and below when accompanied by an adult.
